He was predeceased by: his parents, William Monroe Munson and Carrie Elizabeth Munson; his wife Mildred E. Munson; and his son-in-law Joe Dixon. He is survived by: his children, Sherry Lynn Dixon of Concord, NC and Joe M Munson, Jr. (Cindy) of Midland, NC.; his grandchildren, Rhonda Munson, Kimberly Munson, Lindsay Munson and Steven Dixon (Genna); his great grandchildren, Janae Munson and Kate Dixon; and his sister-in-law Dot Munson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Wilmar Park Baptist Church (584 Wilmar St NW, Concord, NC 28025). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
