She was predeceased by: her parents, Louise Pigg Stowe and James Rufus Ferrell; her former husband Willie J. "Bud" Smith; her husband Thomas A. Rankin; and her children, Patricia Ann Smith and Rick L. Smith.
She is survived by: her daughter Deetra G. Ragan (Toney Sr.) of Concord; her daughter-in-law Teressa Shaver; her sister Ramona Ferrell Blackwelder; her grandchildren, Dana R. Surratt (Ben), Lori S. Miller (Kevin), Ricky L. Smith (Amy) and L. Michael Smith (Kathy); and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Dakota, Alan, Courtney, Ryan, Destiny, Bethany, Jenna and Joel. She is also survived by extended family members and dear friends.
