He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Alexander Hudson and Ola Cress Hudson; and his brothers, Glenn and Ray Hudson. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Blackwelder Hudson; his daughter Melanie Hudson (Sandy Kee); his siblings, Jane Hudson Bost (Brice) and Coy Hudson (Julia); his sisters-in-law, Sharon Blackwelder Ritchie (Gary) and Frances Kanipe; and his stepgrandchildren, Madison and Morgan Kee.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Building and Improvement Fund, 100 St. John's Church Road, Concord, NC 28025.
