He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Freeman and Mary Slone Edwards Morrison; and his wife Shirley Freeman. He is survived by: his children, Derrick J. Freeman (Barbara) and Rev. Patricia A. Wilkerson; his grandsons, Derrick Josh Freeman, Terry A. Spratt and Antonio Spratt; and his daughters, Dorothy Jones and Teresa Parks. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren.
