It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sharon Ann Connelly Tierney of Concord, North Carolina, who passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Ellen O'Hara Connelly and John Harold Connelly; and her siblings, Robert Eugene Connelly, John Reynolds Connelly, Patricial Connelly Duddy, Gloria Connelly Bastian, Catherine Bridgett Connelly, Joseph Franklin Connelly, James Connelly and Baby Frances Connelly.
She is survived by: her husband John Joseph Tierney; her children, Joseph John "Joe" Tierney (Amy) of Concord, John Connelly Tierney (Katherine) of Concord, Patrick O'Malley Tierney (Ashley) of Concord, Mary Ann "Molly" Tierney-Fry (Matthew) of Concord and Clare Tierney Palmer (John) of Concord; her grandchildren, Michael Joseph Tierney, Daniel Patrick Tierney, Elizabeth Grace "Bella" Tierney, Mary-Clare Carter Tierney, Ann-Margaret Connelly Tierney, John "Jack" O'Malley Fry, Madeline O'Hara Fry, Catherine McCandless Fry, Audrey Grace Fry and John William Palmer; and her sister Sister Catherine Connelly. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family.
