He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Lee Helms Barbee and Buford Samuel Barbee; his sons, Jerry Van Barbee and Roy Eugene Barbee; and his siblings, David Wayne Barbee, Ricky Lane Barbee, Peggy Jean Cox and Katherine Porter.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Anna Floyd Barbee of Concord; his daughters, Donna Michelle Gray (David Gray), Anita Gale Avery (Ricky), Angela "Elaine" Smith (Ronald) and Elizabeth Sehorn (Billy); and his brother Ronnie Lee Barbee of Concord. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
