She was predeceased by: her husband Alva Hill Ward, III; and her parents, Thomas Whitehurst and Catherine "Peggy" Whitehurst. She is survived by: her aunt Nancy Whitehurst; and her cousins, Pamela Whitehurst Johnson, George Whitehurst, Jonathan Armstrong, Jennifer Armstrong and Paul Armstrong.
