With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Benny Gene Hayes of Conover, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 29, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Benny leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Benny may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Hayes and Helen Davis Keller; and his wife Ann Hayes. He is survived by: his children, Brent Hayes (Melissa) of Conover, David Hayes (Shelley) of Conover and Cindy Simpson of Asheville; and his siblings, Dan Hayes of Baton, Susan Brittain of Hudson and Jill Mann (Gary) of Hudson. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren, Numerous nieces and nephews.
