He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Robert and Rosemary Small; and his great-grandparent Patsy McMahan. He is survived by: his parents, Scott Nelson of Statesville and Hollie Armstrong Nelson of Lincolnton; his siblings, Kayla Parsons (Josh) of Hickory, Kathryn Nelson of Hudson, Taylor Nelson of Statesville and Luke Nelson of Statesville; his nieces, Alaina, Ava, Kayliana, Jacelynn, Grace, Kambrielle, Aurielle and Layani; his nephew Elijah; his stepmother Sarah of Statesville; his grandparents, Craig and Kathy Armstrong; and his stepgrandmother Sherry Hoffner of Statesville.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bennett Funeral Service (7878 NC-16, Newton, NC 28658).
