With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Pressley Hoover of Conover, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. James Pressley left this world on July 17, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Glenn Hoover and Mildred Evelyn Sherrill; his brother Robert Hoover (Judy); and his father-in-law Sherman Bumgarner (Mable). He is survived by: his wife Diane Bumgarner Hoover; his daughters, Kristina Hoover Lackey (Steve) of Conover and Kerry Hoover Smith (Michael) of Taylorsville; his brothers, Phillip Hoover (Carol) of Taylorsville and Steve Hoover (Becky) of Taylorsville; his brother-in-law Randy Bumgarner (Teresa) of Hiddenite; his grandchildren, Patrick Keaton (Nikki) of North Augusta, Charles (Trey), Abigail Kristina Shook, Peyton Thomas Shook, Rachel N. Sanchez of Winston Salem and Emma R. Sanchez (Isabella L. Simpson) of Winston Salem; and his great grandchild Charlotte Evelyn Keaton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
A reception will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at the Rock Barn Golf and Spa (3805 Club House Drive Northeast, Conover, NC 28613).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House in James' name.
