It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jannie Ellis Kenniston of Conover, North Carolina, who passed away on June 4, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Whitfield Ellis and Loray Parrish Ellis; her husband George Paul Kenniston, Sr.; and her siblings, Gwendolyn Windham, Lorene Evans and Jack Coleman.

She is survived by: her children, George Paul Kenniston, Jr. of Hickory, NC., Deborah Sherrill (Tim Sherrill) of Claremont, NC and Katherine Loray Kenniston of Jacksonville, NC.; her sister Ramona Jean MacPhee of Glendale, AZ.; her grandchildren, Charles, Amanda Bentley, Kristy, Thomas Lee, Hannah Davis, Brandon Kenniston, Trevaun, Ashley Landis, Joshua, Kylie Hijar, Cindy Kenniston, Daykota Kenniston and Cheyenne Kenniston; and her great grandchildren, Delaney Bentley, Audrey Lee, Haley Bentley, Ryeit Saul, Cadence Hijar, McKeelan Kenniston and Koa Kenniston.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Burke Mortuary Chapel (2516 N Main Ave, Newton, NC 28658). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Catawba Memorial Park (3060 US-70, Hickory, NC 28602).
