He was predeceased by: his parents, Khanjibhai Patel and Jumnaben Patel; and his siblings, Dhiru Patel and Khiki Patel. He is survived by: his wife Shanta Patel; his sons, Sanjay Patel (Angela) and Sam Patel (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Hayden and Anna Grace.
