She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Harrison Thomas and Lula Victoria Boggs Thomas; her former husband William James Holt; and her husband Charles Houston Boyd. She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Holt Smith (Eddie) of Newton and Victoria Holt Handsel (Mack) of Stanley, NC.; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Allen Smith (Melissa), Scott Anthony Smith (Paige) and Angela Handsel Abernethy (Derek); her great grandchildren, Dylan Jordan Smith (Lacey), Tyler Charles Smith, Laura Mckenzie Smith, Aaren Daniel Smith, Ansley Cheryl Marie Smith and Sydnie Faye Abernethy; her great great grandchild Kasen Jordan Smith; her stepgreat-granddaughter Masi Sanders (Jason); her great great grandchild Easton James Sanders; her sister-in-law Carol Long Beck (Ronnie); her nephew Marty Beck; and her caregivers, Masi Sanders, Sherry Atwell and Paige Grillo.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (3250 High Point Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107).
