With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leslie Barnette (Conover, North Carolina), born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on August 26, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Leslie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Leslie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Paul Honeycutt and Pauline Houston Honeycutt; her husband Douglas C. Barnette; her daughter Ashley Hope Barnette; and her siblings, Guy Paul Honeycutt Jr., Janice Honeycutt Lane and Rebecca Honeycutt Poe.
She is survived by: her son Jason; her daughter-in-law Faye Honeycutt; and her brothers-in-law, David Poe and Jim Lane. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
