We announce the death of Nell S. Baker of Conover, North Carolina, who passed away on October 22, 2026, at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Lee Self and Laura Minnie Brittain Self; and her siblings, Gene Self, Coy Self, Bobby Self, Michael Self, Merle Rhoney and Colleen Boston.
She is survived by: her husband John Phillip Baker; her sons, Tommy Baker (Pam) and Darrell Baker (Gina); her siblings, David Self, Farrell Self, Joanne Starnes, Judy Lovelace and Sandy Leatherman; her grandchildren, Amber Baker McFetters, Chelsea Radke (Jake Radke), Haden Baker and Madison Baker; and her great grandchildren, Roosevelt and Cheyenne Radke.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (2126 St Johns Church Rd NE, Conover, NC 28613). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
