She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Eckard and Claudia Bollinger Eckard; her husband Jack Durant Abernethy; her son Sidney Abernethy; and her great grandchild Mason Abernethy.

She is survived by: her daughter Karen Reinhardt (Bobby) of Conover; her daughter-in-law Denise Abernethy of Hickory; her grandchildren, Ashley Huffman (Robert), Bobby Reinhardt II (Jada Dellinger), Derek Abernethy (Angela) and Robbie Winters (Peach); and her great grandchildren, Landon Huffman (Brooke), Brooke Huffman and Sydnie Abernethy.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 4420 County Home Rd., Conover, NC 28613.
