She was predeceased by : her parents, Joe McCaslin Sr. and Pauline Martin McCaslin of Newton; and her mother-in-law Peggy Poovey. She is survived by : her husband Timothy Poovey; her children, Bryan Poovey (Jamie) of Newton and Amber Hicks (Alex) of Conover; her siblings, Joe McCaslin (Susie) of Newton and Shandra Black (Kenneth) of Hickory; her father-in-law Walter Poovey of Conover; her siblings-in-law, Gary Poovey of Newton and Candi Poovey of Conover; her grandchildren, Madilyn Culpepper, Easton Poovey and Swayde Hicks; her nieces and nephews, Adrian McCaslin, Allison Patton, Taylor Black Ortega and Jordan Black; and also Tim Hudson.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 18th 2021 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Emmanuel Baptist Church (1405 Emmanuel Church Rd, Conover, NC 28613). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 19th 2021 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
