He is survived by: his wife Mildred Brown; his children, Annette Brown Whitley of Winterville, NC and Brandt Thomas Brown (Michaela) of Tyner, NC; his grandchildren, Tiffany Rae Bartlett (Eric) of Goldsboro, NC, Brandt Joshua "Josh" Brown (Chelsea Krahenbill) of Edenton, NC and Caroline Susanna Patrick (Taylor Heath) of Tyner, NC; his great grandchildren, Samuel Elisha Bartlett, Eliana Eliza Bartlett, Judah Elijah Bartlett, Rosie Belle Brown, Rudi Joshua Brown, Gretel Taylor Patrick and Grainger Wade Patrick; and his sister Daisy Smith (George) of Bracey, VA.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service (116 Short St, Rich Square, NC 27869). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Ashleys Grove Baptist Church (2152 Ashleys Grove Rd, Conway, NC 27820). A burial was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 2:45 PM at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery (4876 US-258, Rich Square, NC 27869).
