With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leon Carlton Burgess Sr. of Conway, North Carolina, who passed away on May 31, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Burgess and Bernice Dunn Burgess; his wife Elizabeth Hobbs Burgess; and his siblings, James Wilson Burgess, Billy Burgess, Earl Preston Burgess and Mary Louise Burgess.

He is survived by: his sons, Carl Burgess and Charles Burgess; his daughter-in-law Rachel Burgess; his grandsons, Bruce Burgess, Stanley Burgess and Stephen Burgess; and his siblings, Lynn Burgess and Troy Burgess (Rita Burgess). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
