He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Gladys Lee Canter Hampton; his brothers, Robert "Tarz" Hampton, Jr. and Kenny Sidney Hampton; his brothers-in-law, Richard Spillman and Carl Barber; and his half-sister Betty Jane Campbell.
He is survived by: his siblings, Jimmy Hampton (Susan), Joyce Spillman and Dianne Barber; his half-sister Dot Vanzant; and his close friends, Precious and Shaggy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lambert Funeral Home (635 Wilkesboro St, Mocksville, NC 27028). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Legion Memorial Park (7700 NC-801, Cooleemee, NC 27014).
