She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover Sidney Elliott and Alma Beck Elliott; and her sister Patricia Elliott Lloyd. She is survived by: her husband Joe Haigler; her brother Jerry Elliott of New Bern, NC.; and her caregiver Katie Fordham. She is also survived by nephews, as well as her steadfast friend.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Cornelius (21007 Catawba Ave, Cornelius, NC 28031). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The First Baptist Church of Cornelius in honor of Nita.
