In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Elvie leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Elvie may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Patrick and Addie Patrick; and her husband Franklin "Junior" Young. She is survived by: her children, Franklin D. Young of Council, Debra Y. Sholar (Glenn) of Wallace, Anthony "Tony" Young of Council, Beverly "Belle" Y. Jacobs (Stevie) of Bolton and Ida Y. Castro (Oscar) of Delco; and her sister Joyce Patrick Brown of Bolton. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Worthington Funeral Home (405 E Strawberry Blvd, Chadbourn, NC 28431). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Whiteville Seventh Day Adventist Church (1002 N Franklin St, Whiteville, NC 28472).
