He was predeceased by: his father Danny Coates; his stepfather Tommy Sprouse; his brother Jeff Coates; and his nephew Zachary Coates. He is survived by: his mother Darlene Marlow (Barry); his wife Cynthia Lucas Coates; his sons, Seth Coates and Lucas Chandler; his grandchildren, Traylan Thorpe, Adonis Bullard-Lee and Ivory Nash; his siblings, David Coates and Angie Seeberg (Ron); and his nephew Taylor Coates (Kelsi). He is also survived by his wife were also foster parents for 14+ years and brought many children.
