He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Lige and Myrtle Carolyn Haskins Averette; and his brother James Edward Averette. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Blake, Sydnie and Alye; his wife Ann Averette; his sons, Stephen Brooks Averette of Creedmoor and Patrick Todd Averette of Franklinton; his grandchildren, Spencer Blake Averette and Allison Emma Averette; his sister Lou Helen Averette; his nephews, Edward Averette and John Paul Averette; and his cousin Mike Dickerson of Warsaw, NC. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Creedmoor, NC, or Heartland Hospice in Raleigh, NC.
