He is survived by: his wife Ernestine; his children, Roilita (Von), Roy, Jr. of Henderson, NC and Randall of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Jalen Sampson of Durham, NC and Zoe Sampson of Atlanta, GA; his brothers, Charlie Best, Jr., Vernon Best (Marilyn) of Clinton, NC, James Best of Sanford, NC, David Best (Emma) of Lompoc, CA and Lawrence Sampson of Piscataway, NJ; and his siblings-in-law, Hunt, Jr. of Durham, NC, Talid Abdullah, Earleen Hunt of Newport News, VA, Ayesha Abdullah and Sylvia Hunt of Durham, NC. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
