He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer D. Farmer and Dora Pennington Farmer; his wife Frances Jane Powers Farmer; and his siblings, Geraldine Gibson, Charlie Farmer, Ervin Farmer, Carlton "Ned" Farmer and Elmer "June" Farmer.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Farmer of Creston and Deborah Ann Lollis (Steve) of Easley; his siblings, Margaret Pearl Johnson of Creston and Joseph Paul Farmer of West Jefferson; and his grandsons, David Farmer (Ariel), Timothy Denney (Selina), Chris Farmer (Kayla) and Stephen Denney. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
