She was predeceased by: her parents, Linwood Simmons and Lucy Spruill Simmons; her husband Delton Garfield Ambrose; her son Joseph Winston Ambrose; her siblings, Arnold Simmons (Cora), Glenn Simmons and Marjorie Weatherly (Kenneth); and her brother-in-law Van Vanmeter.
She is survived by: her son Jess Ambrose; and her sister Linda Vanmeter of Bridgeport. She is also survived by one granddaughter; four great-granddaughters and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Mt. Tabor Free Will Baptist Church (106 7th St, Creswell, NC 27928). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
