He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Aaron Cantrell and Marie Cantrell Weiss. He is survived by: his wife Diane Stanley Cantrell; his daughter Crystal Cantrell Warlick (Ray) of Lincolnton; his granddaughters, Misty Lail McIntosh (Jason), Lacey Canipe (Bradley) and Bessie Motz (Troy); his great grandchildren, Anderson McIntosh, Zoey Canipe, Emma Motz and Leah Motz; and his siblings, Joann Riffle of Crouse, Sandra Wright of Crouse, Robin Jenkins of Salisbury, Mike Cantrell of Lincolnton, Eddie Cantrell of Lincolnton and Tony Cantrell of Vale. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
