He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Lee and Alice Faye Miller Flanagan; his brothers, Charles Lenwood "Pete" Flanagan and Edward "Ed" Flanagan; his grandmother Chessie Miller Bower; his grandson Armond Young (Siamese); and his pet Skippy.
He is survived by: his children, Bailey Young (Chris) of West Jefferson, Alexandria "Aly" Gartside of Jefferson, Dillon Flanagan (Drew) of Wilmington, Brooklyn Flanagan of Johnson City, TN and Autumn Flanagan of Jefferson; his siblings, Robin Calhoun of West Jefferson and Michael "Tim" Flanagan (Pat) of Louisiana; his grandchildren, Gabe Young (Hannah), Felix Young, Cooper Young, Kinslee Gartside, Ember Flanagan, Adelina Rodriguez-Ramos, Canyon Flanagan and Soleia Rodriguez-Ramos; and his daughter Bella. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel (3470 U. S. Hwy 221 N, Jefferson, NC 28640).
