He was predeceased by : his father Ralph Hooper; and his grandparents, Clinton, Maude Hooper, Homer and Ruby Harris.

He is survived by : his mother Linda Harris Hooper; his siblings, Lora Griffiths (Bob), Susan Rukus (Chris) and Billy Hooper; his nieces, Rachel Rukus, Natalie Rukus and Lucy Hooper; and his nephew Coleman Rukus. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles and cousins that were more like siblings.

A burial was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hooper-Speedwell Cemetery (103 Stone Fly Dr, Cullowhee, NC 28723).
