It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Jean Coleman of Currie, North Carolina, who passed away on February 12, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Marion R. Cates and Nellie Merritt Cates; her husband Steve M. Coleman; and her brothers, Harry Cates of Kings Mountain and Joe Cates (Sue) of Hillsborough.

She is survived by : her children, C. Jeremy Hall (Karen) of Eugene and Elizabeth D. Payne (Daniel) of Lynchburg, Virginia.; her grandchildren, John Cooper and Caroline Harrison Payne of Lynchburg, Virginia; her sister Hilda Holloway (Sterling) of Durham; and her sister-in-law Jerrie Cates of Kings Mountain. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
