He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Atkinson and Hilda Atkinson; his brother Gene Atkinson; and his niece Stephanie Sharp. He is survived by: his wife Gayle; his children, Melissa Atkinson Baird (Jones), Joseph Atkinson and Jonathan Atkinson (Catrina); his grandchildren, Jasper Baird, Charlotte Baird, Jesse Baird and Mason Atkinson; and his siblings, Hugh Atkinson Jr. (Jackie) and Donna Sharp (David).
