He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sattler and Kathryn Lucy Lantz; his wife Wanda Kight Lantz; his stepfather Stanley Gray; and his siblings, Jackie Lantz, Bobby, Johnny, William, Paul and Silas Sattler.

He is survived by: his son James Lantz (Tanya) of Shawboro; his siblings, Karen Sue Gray, JoAnn Fleming and Jeffrey Sattler of West Virginia; his grandchildren, Haley Brackett, Clay Lantz (Jessica), Alex Fiorillo (Nick), Kimmie Culler (Quincy) and Mia Justice (Trevor); and his great grandchildren, Ben Fiorillo, Addi Lantz, Jackson Justice and Gracie Culler.
