He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Edward Gillespie and Eva Gillespie; his wife Bonnie Baumgardner Gillespie; and his daughter Melinda Gail Gillespie Wilson. He is survived by: his children, Cory Grant, Constance Gillespie of Georgia and Sidney Gillespie (Amanda) of Bessemer City, NC; his grandchildren, Liyah Grant (Christian), Jordan Grant, Nathan Gillespie, Chelsea Gillespie and Selena Thompson; his great grandchildren, Ali Grant, Luna Matos, Zayven Matos and Keegan Reilly; and his mother-in-law Jessie McSwain.
