He was predeceased by : his parents, Clinton Crisp and Alomae Jenkins Crisp; his siblings, Julia Crisp Cox and David Clinton Crisp; and his brother-in-law Steedly Eugene Hord.

He is survived by : his daughters, Jennifer Crisp Haines (Gary) and Susanna Crisp Culberson (Wes); his sister Vickie Crisp Hord; his sister-in-law Patty H Crisp; and his grandchildren, Grayson Conrad Haines, Jacob Clinton Haines, Julia Caroline Haines, Jackson Alexander Payne, Blair Victoria Culberson and Zoe Bryte Culberson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (531 Hardin Rd, Dallas, NC 28034).

Jerry retired from Broughton Hospital in Morganton where he was the Director of The Broughton Foundation and Volunteer Services.

“Suzanna and Jenifer, I have been a true friend of your father for 47 years and have enjoyed every year. We bonded at McClure Lumber Company in sales and have stayed close friends since. Jerry was always my go to friend when I needed advise or just someone to trust with something. I am already missing that boy in that we always watched the triple crown horse races each year and picked winners. The Kentucky Derby was Saturday 4/5/2024 and I could not find my partner. I am praying for your family.”
