He was predeceased by: his parents, William Taft Benoy and Minnie Propst Benoy; his wife Ruth Benoy; his sister Rosetta Leatherman; his brother-in-law Paul Leatherman; his sister Mary Jane Bland; his brother-in-law Jimmy Bland; and his brothers, David Edgar Benoy and William Taft Benoy Jr..

He is survived by: his son Randy Benoy; his daughter-in-law Janet Benoy; his grandchildren, Melinda, Ryan Hager, Donna and Wesley Edison; his great grandchildren, Wyatt Hager, Hadley Hager, Lydia Hager, Elaina Edison and Anders Edison; and his sister-in-law Peggy Benoy.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery (412 W Trade St, Dallas, NC 28034).
