She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Bobbitt and Mildred Nell Bobbitt (Bolding); and her sister Charlotte Green. She is survived by: her husband Tony M. Parton; her daughter Lura Elizabeth "Beth" Bechhold (David); her grandson Spencer of Davidson, NC.; and her sister Cynthia Bobbitt of Charlotte, NC..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Junior League of Charlotte or the Alzheimer's Association.
