He is survived by: his wife Sybil Mahaffey Kay; his sons, Donald Oscar Kay, Jr. (Don) and Jerome Wallace Kay (Joy) of Yadkinville; his grandchildren, Jennifer Kay Herring (John), Jordan Kay Cooner (Will), Morgan Kay Lyda (Cory) and Madison Klaire Kay; and his great grandchild Elizabeth Kay Herring (Ellie).
