It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eva Mae Shetley of Davidson, North Carolina, born in Madison, North Carolina, who passed away on January 13, 2023, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Jay I. Greene and Eulala Woody Greene; and her sister Reba Sawyer. She is survived by : her husband Rev. James Shetley; her children, Chris Shetley (Tina) of Thomasville, Eric Shetley (Tonya) of Thomasville and Craig Shetley (Sherri) of Thomasville; her sister Irene Norton; and her brother-in-law Paul Sawyer. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 very special nephews and 2 very special nieces, relatives and friends.

“I am so glad that I had an opportunity to get to know Ms. Shetley. I am new to TPS and she helped me feel more comfortable to the school and feel welcomed. There a lot of staff members at TPS, but she helped me feel comfortable and welcome though. I really appreciated her doing that. She is an amazing teacher and I enjoyed time talking to her about different ways to teach the NC Standards in creative and fun ways! She was very wise! I will miss our talks and I am glad she had such a strong faith. -Mrs. Cornell”

“I want you to know, that even though I only spent 2 wonderful years with the "K-Team" at Thomasville Primary School, I think Mrs. Shetley and I worked well together, mainly because we were the two oldest on the "K-Team." I knew her faith was strong. She was always excited when talking about God. In a way, Mrs. Shetley helped mold me into a better Christian. Mrs. Shetley will be missed; however, memories of her will live on. Robert Schumann”
