He was predeceased by : his parents, Clyde McRee and Iva Ikerd McRee; and his brother Harry McRee. He is survived by : his wife Beverly McRee; his sons, Jon McRee (Beth) and Jason McRee; his grandchildren, Lily, Sophie, Will, Ben and Jack; and his siblings, Sue Watson, Don McRee (Priscilla) and Sam McRee.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, May 5th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Davidson College Presbyterian Church (100 N Main St, Davidson, NC 28036).

Memorial contributions may be made in Leonard's memory to the Davidson College Presbyterian Church or to the Residents Fund at The Pines at Davidson.
