With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ralph Thomas Jonas of Davidson, North Carolina, born in Lincolnton, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 28, 2025 at the age of 101. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey A. Jonas Sr. and Maude Crowell Jonas; his siblings, Harvey A. Jonas Jr. (Bubba), Martha Sadri (Missy) and Mary Lillian Conley (Honey); his niece Susan Jenkins; his nephew Andy Jonas; and his great-niece Patty Wheeler.
He is survived by: his former wife Elinor Jonas; his children, Ashley Jonas, Kathy Jonas of Gastonia and Tommy Jonas (Tracey) of Greensboro; his nieces and nephews, Anna Fortenberry (Ken) of Macon, GA, Rebecca Sadri of Surfside Beach, SC, Susan Sundbergs of Roswell, GA, Bill Conley (Cary) of Statesville, NC, Dave Conley of Raleigh, NC and John Sadri (Allison) of Richardson, TX; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jinny Conley, Solomon Conley, Jonas, Ben, John Fortenberry, Richard Jenkins, Maddie Nelson, Angela Payne, Rebecca Pomeroy, Jordan Sadri, Robin Smith, Trudy Sunbergs and Leslie Thomas; his wife Ceil Jonas; his son John Murphy (Mary) of Raleigh, NC; and his nieces and nephews, Alice Brochu, Kristin Lintelman, Hunter Murphy and Stephen Shelley.
In his mid-90s, Ralph learned to use an iPhone and FaceTime to help navigate Covid.
