He was predeceased by : his mother Sara Craig Hay. He is survived by : his children, Sam Hay Jr. of Stuart, Dorothy Hay Kurtz of Lexington, Fred Hay of Boone and Dick Hay of Davidson. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
