He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Elizabeth; his wife Elinor Drane; his father Leonard "Toby" Nathaniel (Toby Grice); his parents-in-law, William and Dorothy Drane; and his siblings, Carolyn Howie and Rufus Grice.
He is survived by: his daughters, Elizabeth Rose (William) of Straits, NC and Jo Grice of Beaufort, NC; his grandchildren, Amanda Craig (Scott) of Baltimore, MD, Mollie Nelson (Matt) of Davis, NC, Drew Grice of Greenville, SC and Tyler Grice (Kari) of Hampton, VA; his great grandchildren, Macon, Martin, Mattie Nelson and Hutson Grice; his brother Frank Grice (Becky) of Virginia Beach, VA.; and his sisters-in-law, Janet Anderson (Bill) of Arden, NC and Willena Kiser of Charlotte, NC.
