It is with sadness that the passing of Nina Jenkins (Deep Gap, North Carolina) is shared. Nina, born on February 18, 1944, passed away on September 21, 2026. She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Cox and Myrtle Cox; her siblings, Anna Hayes, Cleo Wheeler, Linda Carlton and Lloyd Cox; her brother-in-law Harold Carlton; and her niece Sheila Watson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Audrey Jenkins Hamby (Cecil) of Deep Gap and Robin Jenkins of Lynchburg, VA.; her granddaughters, Anna Starnes (Harris) and Michelle Smith (Caleb); her great grandchildren, Joy of Deep Gap, Logan of Deep Gap, Andrew of Deep Gap, Addy of Deep Gap, Asa of Deep Gap and Gwen of Deep Gap; her friend Wayne Triplett; and her caregivers, Anna White and Linda Coulter. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mt Ephraim Baptist Church (3275 Elk Creek Rd, Deep Gap, NC 28618). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at the Stony Fork Baptist Church Cemetery (116 Lawrence Greene Rd, Deep Gap, NC 28618).
