He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Letterman and Ruetta Tipton Letterman; his wife Wanda Paulette "Betty" Letterman; and his siblings, Erma Peterson and Wayne Letterman.
He is survived by: his children, Darlene Proctor (Lee) of Archdale, Jackie Rigsby (George) of Denton, Randy Letterman of Denton and Doyle Letterman of Denton; his sisters, Lorraine McKinney (Dick) of Fletcher and Kay Canipe of Burnsville; and his grandchildren, Angela Taylor (Craig), Eric Letterman (Jamie), Joshua Proctor (Amber), Nathanael Proctor (Heather), Reuben Proctor (Anna), Paulette Letterman and Chloe Letterman. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cumby Family Funeral Service (206 Trindale Rd, Archdale, NC 27263). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Highland Baptist Church (1204 Textile Pl, High Point, NC 27260).
