It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Miguel Angel Alvarez of Denton, North Carolina, who passed away on May 8, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Miguel Angel departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Miguel Angel may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Miguel Angel leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Felipe Alvarez and Flora Rodriguez; his former wife Pilar Alvarez; and his brother Eduardo Alvarez of Miami, FL. He is survived by: his wife Yordanka Socarras; his children, Elena Ramirez (Ricardo) of Denton, NC and Samuel Alvarez (Betty) of Liberty, NC; his stepson Yoilan Vaillant of Santiago, Cuba; his grandchildren, Sebastian Ramirez, Leilani Ramirez and Daniel Alvarez; and his siblings, Carlos Alvarez of Hialeah, FL and Maria Elena Vazquez of Forked River, NJ. He is also survived by several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
