She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Floyd Wilson Bland and Terry; her brother Gary Bland; her husband William Sumerlin; her daughters, Tammy Hedrick of Mocksville and Billie Skeen of Denton; her brothers, Floyd Bland of Jackson, TN and Tony Bland of Tarboro; and her grandchildren, Gwyn Jones, Thad Jones and Dawson Hedrick.
