She was predeceased by: her parents, Tyrus Sherrill and Clafton Sherrill; and her siblings, Gwen Burris, Mary "Snookie" Herman, Brenda Sherrill, Tyrus, Sherrill, Jimmy Sherrill and Larry Sherrill.
She is survived by: her sisters, Betty Carringer and Linda Bost; her husband Roy "Doug" Hicks; her children, Crystal Henderson (Randy) and Brian Hicks; her grandchildren, Courtney Thompson (Eddie), Kaitlyn Hicks and Maggie Hicks; Karter, Donnie, Jade, Luka and Hattie Thompson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the Family Life Center of Webb's Chapel Methodist Church (4640 Webbs Chapel Church Rd, Denver, NC 28037). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Webb's Chapel Methodist Church (4640 Webbs Chapel Church Rd, Denver, NC 28037).
In Judy's honor, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Foster Family Alliance of North Carolina, 1024 Mebane Oaks Road, Suite 184, Mebane, NC 27302, a cause that was close to her heart.
