He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas G. Gray and Margaret R. Gray (Straw); and his son Michael T. Gray. He is survived by: his wife Anne Elizabeth (Betty); his daughters, Beth Knudsen (Ejnar) of Reno, Nevada, Chris Aiello (Scott) of Mansfield, Ohio and Lori Enstrom (Scott) of Huntersville; his grandchildren, Kelsey, Megan, Jake, Annika, Brett, Josh, Alex, Audrey, Eva and Einar; his siblings, Patricia Gardner (Ken), Kathleen Raab (Fred) and Daniel Gray; and his sister-in-law Nancy Grant. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Good Samaritan Funeral Home (3362 NC-16, Denver, NC 28037). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (537 NC-16, Denver, NC 28037).
