He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Allen Sykes and Dora Marie Wright Sykes; and his aunts and uncles, Una Sykes, Fern Key (Jim), Ginger Bode (Frank), Betty Lou Moore (Eugene), Mary Sue Smith (Leonard), Amelda Privette, Cena Holder, Ted Sykes (Joyce) and Clinton Sykes.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Mooney Sykes; his children, Jacob Paul Sykes (Heather Fain) and Joy Noelle Sykes; his stepsons, Christopher Adam Dalton (Eva) and Ryan Levi Dalton; his grandchildren, Jaysic Gunter, Jaythan Gunter, Jayden Gunter, Scarlett Ivy Joyce and Ginny Mae Dalton; his brother Michael Allen; his sister-in-law Annette Sykes; and his nephew Brandon Sykes. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
